Just the weekend
It was definitely a busy weekend, leading to what is going to be another busy week for us. We took part in the walk, and our team raised more than three times our goal. Thanks to all of you who donated. My favourite part of the morning, was when Pudding saw some older kids playing with a parachute, and ran to play with them. It was nice, for once, to watch her be included in the group, without having to explain anything to her or her playmates. They just accepted her, and she had fun playing.
We met up with Ms. S and the other teachers, and just like on her school trip, she was uncomfortable seeing her favourite teacher outside of school. Ms. S wouldn’t stand for that though, and a piggy back ride later she was all smiles again.
Cubby was tired, but manage to hold it together until a dog ate the sandwich out of his hands. He doesn’t share food, and didn’t take it well. And the poor dog had to eat GFCF bread. I don’t know which one was more upset.
When it was all over we decided to take the kids to the Natural History Museum. Cubby finally took a nap and was much happier as a result. Dinosaurs are a hit in our house.
On Sunday we went to the Pumpkin Patch, and this time it went so much better. Instead of going to the one we went to last year, which was huge, crowded, and loud, we found one at an animal park that was much more sedate. There were very few people there, and because we were following our own timetable, it went much more smoothly. We could let the kids get some needed proprioceptive input on the bouncy castle, let Pudding touch the hay to her content in the maze, and ride the hay slide and pony twice, and Cubby loved checking out all the different animals. Next year we’ll be overseas, and this is our last Pumpkin Patch for a while, so I’m thrilled at how much the kids enjoyed it. And because of that, we did too.
